Case Study 1October 9 – November 1, 2019Massive power shut-offs occurred in 30 counties in CaliforniaPacific Gas & Electric (PG&E), Southern California Edison (SCE), San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) were the companies involvedPreemptive to prevent wildfires from being started by electrical equipment during strong windsOfficials suspect the October 2017 Northern CA wildfires and 2018 Camp Fire were either caused by/enhanced by electric linesInitially only affected 800,000 but ultimately over 3 million were affected
