Jupiter Ty pe and Color - Seedless table grape; reddish blue to blue when fully mature. Date of Release - 1998; plant patent #13,309 Berry Flavor - Mild muscat; rated highly and exceeded only by Reliance in flavor ratings; 20.6 percent soluble solids. Berry Size - Large, 4 to 5 grams. Berry Texture - Non - slipskin; semi - crisp; skin thickness less than many eastern table grapes. Cluster Size - Medium - large, 200 to 250 grams average; similar weight to Venus . Yield - High, 8 to 13 tons/acre in research trials. Maturity Date - Early, approximately July 24 at Clarksville, Arkansas, five days af ter Venus . Hardiness - Hardy; hardier than Venus , Einset Seedless, Himrod and Marq uis, but not as hardy as Mars or Reliance . Consistent cropping recorded in all tr ials in Arkansas, and lack of hardiness has not been observed. Comments - Medium vigor; resistant to fruit cracking; moderate resistance to common fungal diseases but does require fungicide sprays for successful production; small, soft seed traces observed occasionally but not noticeable due to berry texture.
