Financial Statement Disclosures June 30, 2013 1. Fort Mose Historical Society, Inc. {"the Organization') is a not-for-profit corporation organized under the laws of the State of Florida. It is exempt from Federal income taxes under Sec. 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. It was established to preserve and promote the site of the first free black colony in the United States. 2. Summary of Significant Accounting Policies: a. Basis ofAccounting -The accompanying financial statements have been prepared on the basis of accounting the organiza

Fixed Assets-Fixed assets consist primarily of equipment used at the organization's visitor center. The cost is being deprecated over lives ranging from 5 to 7 years.
