challenge: The market for steel from electric steel plants continues to grow. To meet the growing market requirements and have the ability to fulfill a wide range of production targets and steel qualities is a big challenge. Nevertheless more output must not mean more costs. Low operational and conversion costs, thus promoting a relatively short return-on-investment. Flexibility in utilization of a wide range of raw materials such as scrap, DRI,HBI and hot metal. As with all operations at very high temperatures, the arc furnace involves the risk of unscheduled breakdown if a component fails.

Since maintenance is not possible during operation, you need robust components that assure a high level of availability and minimum maintenance requirements.
