Watch D.O.G.S. The Watch D.O.G.S. program is fully implemented at McSpedden Elementary School! Fathers and Father - figures, WATCH D.O.G.S.® is an innovative program being used by schools across America which helps them to be positively impacted by the committed involvement of fathers and father - figures in their student’s life. Our goal is to have you spend at least one day this year at McSped den Elementary to be a positive male role model and to provide an extra set of eyes and ears on campus. Dads, granddads, uncles, step - dads and adult brothers...this is your chance to participate in many of the activities at your kid's school and peek behin d the scenes. The staff at Mc Spedden has put together a detailed schedule that will get you into all areas of the school including P.E. and Elective classes, having lunch with your kids, the Library, and touring parts of the school you do not get a chance to normally see. Here are the st eps to get signed up for a Day of Service : 1. View the WatchDOGS Kick Off Meeting presentation: Read about the Watch D.O.G.S. program, WatchDOG's role and responsibilities, and a typical Day in the Life of a WatchDOG. Decide if you want to be a WatchDOG. http://goo.gl/bS6IfP 2. Get on the McSpedden WatchDOG roster: Provide Martin Sopher ( McSpedden's Top Dog Coordinator) your name, email address, mobile phone number (for texts), and children's information (name, grade, teacher). Background Check : - Go to https://forms.friscoisd.org/sf/background - checks/volunteer to complete a Frisco ISD background check, even if you can’t volunteer soon. A cleared background check may take 10 business days or more from the moment you complete the online form . This must be repeated each school year . 4. Get a Shirt - Contact Martin Sopher (msopher985@gmail.com, 973.868.3367) to purchase your official Watch D.O.G.S. ® Uniform Short Sleeve T - Shirt for $15. Medium, Large, and Extra - Large sizes are available. You may also o rder a W atch DOG shirt and other apparel at http://dogstore2.fathers.com/test - category.html . Every WatchDOG c oming to the school must have an official WatchDOG shirt. 5. Schedule on our Online Calendar – Our calendar is conveniently online at http:// www.sagepoint.com/ McSpeddenWatchDOGS2014 . Here are the steps to sign up: a. Go to : http://www.sagepoint.com/McSpeddenWatchDOGS2014 b. If you do NOT have a Sagepoint account you will need to create a free account. Click the Join Today ! button on the top of the screen and register. If you already have an account click the Login button on the top of the screen . c. Once you are logged in (new accounts have to receive a verification email first) then review the program information, scroll down , and find a Day of Service that works for you. d. Click the green Sign Up button and enter the email you want to receive a reminder at . Also make sure to enter your Contact Number, one of your Child’s Name at McSpedden , and what Grade they are in so the school can pr ovide you a tailored schedule.
