What exactly is wider evaluation?
Wider evaluation is anything that is relevant to both the
AO1
and the question being asked that is not your initial
IDA
point, evidence and grounding of it or AO3
.
How important is wider evaluation
?
Really
important.
Your answers
are unlikely to score
very
high
marks unless they
include
good wider evaluation.
Wider
evaluation is your chance to shine and to show off
how
good your understanding of the AO1 really is
.
Aim
for around 100 wordsSlide3
What exactly should I write about?
So long as what you write is relevant to the AO1 and the question you really can write anything. Suggestions include:
An application of the theory or research – try to link in detail to the theory here
An alternative IDA point
Any strength or limitation of the theory or research
A comparison to another relevant explanation or theory; if you do this, describe the new theory only very briefly – the point is to make a comparison
