In conjunction with Earth Day on April 22 nd and Arbor Day on April 25 th , Beautify Lehi Week is scheduled this year from April 21 st to April 26 th . Throughout the week, City employees will be out pulling weeds, picking up garbage, straightening light poles, planting flowers, and participating in other beautification projects. The Mayor and City Council will be working in the flowerbeds at the City Cemetery. Parks Division lead Steve Marchbanks commented, “Getting the help of all City employees helps us accom plish many projects around the C ity. It’s also a great opportunity for everyone to ge t out and enjoy the beautiful weather.” Not only are City employees focused on cle aning up Lehi, but residents participate as well. To celebrate Beautify Lehi Week, an d encourage beautification projects, Lehi City is providing dumpsters free of charge for neighborhood cleanup projects. Other groups are working with Parks Division employees on specific projects around the community. Lehi City Mayor Bert Wilson will choose one of these projects for the Mayor’s Award , and the group will receive a n award . “I’m always amazed a t the long list of beautification projects and the number of wonderful families and neighborhood organizations that work hard to clean up our community and make Lehi City a welcoming place, ” commented Mayor Wilson.
