General Information

My main career was going to be a coroner, but doing my research, I would have to go to school for the same information to be a doctor, so I just thought it made sense to try both.

Doctor: a

qualified practitioner of medicine; a

physician

Coroner: an official who investigates violent, sudden, or suspicious deaths.Slide3

salary

Being a doctor I will be making 300,000$ a year, and as a coroner 100,000$ depending on how high demand the professions will be in the 8 years ill be going to school.Slide4

Time Line

If my research is correct, it will take at least 8 years to complete college to become a doctor.Slide5

Appeal

I first realized I wanted to be a doctor when my grandmother died, and it irritated me that the doctors could never find an answer for me and my family. My ambition is driven by wanting to give the families without any answers the cures, or information they need, instead of living in question like I was left to do.

I Want to be a coroner because you not only tell how a person dies, you tell how they lived as well. Gathering scientific data and facts, you can build a story line from days, to months before the person died.Slide6

personality

Being a doctor, I've ben aware that ill have times where sicknesses aren’t predictable, or bad news has to be given to patient families, and I have the ability to take care of these types of things without a melt down.

Of course to be a coroner I'm pretty positive you have to have a strong stomach. I don’t get sick over sights or smells, nothing really disgusts me.Slide7

advantages

One great advantage with these two careers are the salary and the ability to help people the way I want to help people.Slide8

Disadvantages

Being a doctor creates a busy schedule and I’ll be giving up a lot of my playing guitar time.Slide9

Interesting facts

As a coroner you can find what drugs a person has used before they have died.

Being a coroner isn’t all about finding how someone died, its about seeing how they lived so you can add all the facts and findings together to find how their life worked and what types of things they did that lead up to their death.

The coroner who worked on Marilyn Monroe’s case reported that she overdosed on Barbiturates but pills were never found in her

stomach contents.
