Education and Training
Specific educational requirements for state police vary by state. State police generally must possess a high school
diploma, and an associates degree or 60 semester credit hours from an accredited institution of higher learning at time of application.
Must usually be a state resident, have a valid drivers license and be a U.S. citizen. Police are also required to pass an oral test, and under go a medical examination, drug test and psychological evaluation. They must also complete training at the State Police Academy.Slide4
