On the horizontal piece use the stitches below the BO edge. VVVVVVV Bound Off Edge Stitches

It helps to mark some of the stitches

Insert needle into first stitch , run under the stitch gap and bring out through center of second stitch.

When returning, go to back into the center of the second stitch , and bring through the center of third stitch.

BO to BO Edge All Up Find the stitches below the BO edge on each piece and identify where the tapestry needle goes. Insert the needle into first stitch, run under the stitch gap and bring through center of second stitch. When returning to the piece, insert the needle back into center of second stitch, and bring through center of third stitch.

Set up for seaming horizontal to vertical VVVV Bound Off Edge Stitches Selvedge Edge Bars Between Stitches

General Instructions 1. Find and mark the center of the top of the sleeve. 2. Align the center of the sleeve at the bound off edge to the shoulder seam right sides facing. 3. Cut a length of yarn long enough to seam the entire sleeve and thread a bunt tapestry needle. 4. Insert the needle into the center of the first stitch in the center of the sleeve and bring it up into the center of the next stitch. 5. Bring the needle under the first horizontal bar on the body. 6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 three more times.* On the next row, use two horizontal bars. Continue in this manner. 7. Go back to the shoulder seam and seam the other side. Pull the seaming thread tight. *This ratio will work for most gauges. CHECK YOUR GAUGE FIRST. You may need to change the ratio . Most reference works suggest a ratio of 3 stitches to 4 rows or 4 stitches to 5 rows. When in doubt , work two swatches and use trial and error.
