a complex sentence

.

andSlide4

Semicolons are another way to create a complex sentence, without having to add much to it.

I am cold

I want a warm blanket

.

All you do is add a semicolon instead of a period to separate the two sentences.

;Slide5

1. Sentences must be similar in meaning (you can’t use a semicolon to connect random sentences).

2. Semicolons replace the period when creating a complex sentence.

You

DO NOT

use conjunctions with semicolons!
