Problems that Subsistence Farmers Face (usually in LDCs)
Population growth
Need to provide food for growing population, need to plan to produce food for outside communities
International trade
In order to feed a growing population, subsistence farmers need supplies. Subsistence farmers must import supplies from MDCs. So, subsistence farmers must start producing products that MDCs can buy so they can make money.
Drug crops
Specialize in exporting drugs to MDCs. If subsistence farmers are focused on drugs crops, they are not able to grow food to feed growing population.Slide6
Problems that Commercial Farmers Face (usually in MDCs)
Access to markets
The distance between the farm and the market influences what the farmer will grow.
Some crops may spoil quickly when transporting them to market
