ACTIVITY: Change the following statements to include emotive language.

E.g. They were killed

Avoiding statements like I, we, us

ACTIVITY: Change the following statements to include impersonal language.

E.g. I liked Gellius because he is strong character.

1. I liked when Nic ran away as a slave

2. I think Tiso was caring

3. As a class we learnt that Gellius was loyal

4. It is obvious that Gellius cared about Nic.

ACTIVITY: Use the following events with either

AS A RESULT or THIS LED TO

1. The plague and Nic being sent away to Diagoras

2. Gellius’s training and returning to Athens

3. Pirates raiding the ship and Nic becoming a slave

4. Artemis being sold for dowry, the plague and then her becoming a widow.

Examples:

As a result

of her hard work she was chosen to represent Australia.

and this led to
