TRAININGSsafeTALK:A half day alertness training that prepares anyone 15 or older, regardless of prior experience or training, to become a suicide-alert helper.Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST):A two-day interactive workshop in suicide first aid. Nassau County OnTrackNYMercy Medical Center OnTrackNY is an innovative treatment program for adolescents and young adults who recently have had unusual thoughts and behaviors or who have started hearing voices or seeing things that others don’t.OnTrackNY is a statewide program that starts treating young people with schizophrenia and related disorders less than two years after symptoms begin, helping participants stay or transition into the workplace and college. At the Mercy Medical Center 48 percent of participants held jobs or were in school when they enrolled in the program called OnTrackNY. That proportion jumped to 76 percent six months later.

32. Empower Life on Long Island COVID-19 Emergency Response for Suicide PreventionWe use targeted outreach in emergency departments, inpatient settings and other community-based organizations. From there, we focus on engagement, counseling, care management, peer supports and/or treatment for suicide prevention. We also provide trainings such as Understanding Suicide: Causes & Prevention; QPR for Suicide Prevention; Seeking Safety; Domestic Violence Overview; and Mental Health First Aid – Adult (virtual). 59. Telepractice Services …Beyond COVID19Telepractice is an optional means of service delivery available to OASAS certified programs. Services can include evaluations, admissions, treatment/recovery plan development, and/or review, discharge, etc. By now, OASAS Providers should have submitted Telepractice Attestation forms to Certification Bureau.**Please note the emergency use of the Telepractice waivers for telephonic and peer services has been extended to April 20th, 2021 and has been operating on a month-to-month basis since the COVID-19 emergency.
