Intercropping of Moong / Urd with sugarcane during zaid (1 lakh ha.) is proposed as per suitable agri-eco situation25 districts covered (Urd- 14 districts & Moong 11 districts)c) Pulses in Rice- fallowThere are 40 districts under Rice –fallow in the state.There is 0.72 lakh
ha. area under rice- fallow in which Lentil and Ziad
Moong and Urd will be sown.

v) Strategies for Productivity Enhancement
a) Arrangements of life saving irrigation – Sprinklers, Farm Ponds, Water Harvesting Structures etc.Sprinkler sets are available for distributionState Govt. has taken a new initiative in main pulse growing area (Bundelkhand region) to provide life saving irrigation for pulses crop Khet Talab Yojana – under the scheme 1880 farm ponds constructed against the target of 2000.139 check-dam constructed for pulse irrigation (1000 ha. area) in Bundelkhand region against the target of 142.12

b) Plant Protection Measures including IPM
100% seed treatment with fungicide / insecticide / Rhizobium + PSB CultureMechanical device – Light Trap will also be provided to the farmers.Biopesticide (Trichoderma and Beauveria basiana) are available as per requirement.As a plant protection measures, weedicide and insecticide are available as per requirement.13Slide14
vi) Issues related to Pulses Production
Problem of Blue bull / stray animalsDevelopment of short duration varieties by SAUs / Research InstitutionsDue to shortage of pulse seed rate of seeds has gone up. In view of this subsidy should be enhanced.Lack of certified seeds especially pea and lentil (small seeded).
