Due to poaching there are only 450,000 estimated African elephants
Poaching effects a lot of animals that have wanted materials Like
Lions, Rhinos, leopards, baboons, and hogs. Slide3
What are the causes of Poaching?
A cause that is happening in poaching is that people are hunting these animals illegally and are causing a rapidly decrease in these animals
They are hunting these animals for their certain parts of it because they can make money off of it
A example of one of the animals that is being poached is the elephant
The poachers are mostly going after the male elephants for there tusks because the ivory on them can sell about $1,500 for 250 pounds for tusks

Species about to be extinct due to lack of those animals
Hard to reproduce those animals to bring there numbers up
People are stealing the ivory from Uganda and selling it to the Chinese

One way that the people and the government are trying to stop poaching is increasing the police and troops to stop poachers
Another example is that people are trying to destroy the ivory stocks so people stop poaching the animals
Finally they are trying to educate the people to stop poaching because the animals might become extinct

Summary
The topic poaching is a big deal because it is illegal. It is illegal because it is excessively killing a certain species for how much money it can make. People need to stop killing these animals because they are going to make these species extinct. Also this is a very big problem in Africa. A way that the people in Africa are trying to stop it is by sending in forces to stop the poachers. In conclusion the poaching in Africa needs to stop and it will save the animals.
