Ernesto Herrera1B Butaineh Slide2
What is Poverty?
Poverty is a global issue that effects people across the world mainly because of the lack of currency. This has been an ongoing issue that should and can be stopped.Slide3
Poverty in the U.S
Poverty is evident in all states here in the United States, but some states more than others feel the impact more.Slide4
Poverty Across The Globe
Although it looked like many people are homeless here in the United States, there are nations such as India and continents like Africa across the globe that are feeling poverty's impact more.Slide5
Visual Effects
Poverty stricken countries do not have the opportunity and wealth to build strong structures that are able to maintain living conditions, so many cities end up looking like this.Slide6
Urban Poverty
Urbanized cities are home to millions of poverty stricken people, and many are bundled together like Brazil showing
the lack of currency they have to build structures like we have.Slide7
Effect on Children
Poverty is not only about the lack of money, but more importantly the lack of food. This hits the youth of these nations extremely hard and is the leading cause of child deaths.Slide8
The Gap
During the past 10 years, the gap between the wealthy and the poor has risen dramatically.Slide9
Violence
Poverty is the world’s worst violence. It’s unquestionable that crime ranks high among the effects of poverty, and those impoverished neighborhoods or entire cities show the same problems with uneducated adults and kids that nurture more unemployment and crime, and then leading to chronic, long-lasting poverty.Slide10
The Future
Projections until 2030 suggest that even under optimistic growth scenarios, the global poverty target may not be reached meaning we might still be fighting poverty for another 30 years.Slide11
