interviewing
(an attempt to obtain useful information from a witness) and
interrogation
(an attempt to induce a suspect to confess to a crime). Slide4
Police interrogation tactics (Inbau et al, 2013)
Widely used in US and elsewhere but NOT UK (or at least, shouldn’t be used due to PACE).
Custody and isolation.
Confrontation (accuse; block denials).
