MINISTERIAL

ETHICSOPENING STATEMENTS

All conflict and personal difficulties come from only one

place,

according to the Bible.

Slide5

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS THE ETHICS OFCONFLICT

JAMES 4:1-6

Where do wars and fights

come

 from among you? Do

they

 not

come

from

your

desires for

pleasure that war in your members? Slide6

You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war.

Yet

you do not have because you do not ask.

You ask and do not receive

because

you ask amiss, that you may spend

it

 on your pleasures.

Adulterers and

adulteresses

! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Slide8

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS THE ETHICS OFCONFLICT

JAMES 4:1-6

Whoever

therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously

”?Slide9

But He gives more grace. Therefore He says

: “

God resists the proud,

But gives grace to the humble

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS

ETHICS OF CONFLICT

The

Church is made up of

people, individuals

who come together with struggles, talents,

insecurities,

wounds and skills,

a past,

and expectations for the future.Slide11

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS

ETHICS OF CONFLICT

Conflict

resolution is where the gospel of Jesus Christ demonstrates

its

power and ability.

Jesus

Christ came to resolve the CONFLICT between MAN and GOD

(Col. 1:19-22

).

.Slide12

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS ETHICS OF CONFLICT RESOLUTION

COLOSSIANS 1:19-22

For it pleased

the Father that

in Him all the fullness should dwell,

20

and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having

madeSlide13

through the blood of His

) If Jesus

Christ can make such restitution for our sin in order that we might be changed

into

sin-less-ness before a HOLY

GOD,

then is it possible for Jesus to make restitution between individuals in the

Church?Slide16

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS

ETHICS OF CONFLICT

2

) If such resolution between two individuals in the Church becomes impossible, why is that so?

3) Where resolution is not possible between two individuals there is hardness of heart. Slide17

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS ETHICS OF CONFLICT

MATTHEW 18:15-20

“Moreover if

your brother

sins

against you, go and

tell him his

fault

between

you and him alone

. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. Slide18

MINISTERIAL

MATTHEW 18:15-20

But if he will not hear,

take with you one or two more

.’Slide19

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS ETHICS OF CONFLICT

MATTHEW 18:15-20

17

And if he refuses to hear them,

tell it to the church

. But if he refuses even to hear the church,

let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector

.Slide20

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS ETHICS OF CONFLICT

MATTHEW 18:15-20

“Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven

.Slide21

MATTHEW 18:15-20

Again

I

say

to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven

.Slide22

MATTHEW 18:15-20

For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them

.”Slide23

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS

ETHICS of CONFLICT

1) It must be a sin as defined by the Bible and not an annoyance.

2) Confidentiality in conflict is critical. Work to keep it between the two and not on Facebook or Twitter!!!!!Slide24

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS

ETHICS of CONFLICT

3

) When you cannot work it out between

you,

there must be

two

or three

witnesses

that agree with the sin offence that you bring with

you (not

who agree with

you

but with the sin

offence). Slide25

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS

ETHICS of CONFLICT

4)

When the conflict cannot be resolved with

witnesses,

TELL THE CHURCH.

If

there is sin that is propagating between those in the congregation and the offender refuses

correction,

it must be made public. Slide26

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS

ETHICS of CONFLICT

The

authority and attitudes of sin must be defined by God’s Church not by the secular laws of the land or the

kings

.

Matt

hew

18 was spoken by Jesus in the midst of the Roman empire. Slide27

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS

ETHICS of CONFLICT

5

)

If

after public exposure among the Church there is

no change,

then that offender is to be understood and treated as if they are not

born-again

. Slide28

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS

ETHICS of CONFLICT

6) The full authority to define sin comes from the careful agreement upon interpretation of the Bible by two or three gathered in the name of JESUS CHRIST. Slide29

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS

ETHICS of MONEY

Many

conflicts will arise over the handling of money and the social inequity between those in the Church.

Labor

and Management conflict. Slide30

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS

ETHICS of MONEY

Ownership

and stealing.

Taking

advantage of each

other’s

wealth.

Taking

advantage of each

positions or talent.

Taking

advantage of each

abilities.

Slide31

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS ETHICS OF MONEY AND THEFT

1 Corinthians 6:1-11

Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints?

Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? Slide32

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS ETHICS OF MONEY AND THEFT

1 Corinthians 6:1-11

And

if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain

toSlide33

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS ETHICS OF MONEY AND THEFT

this

life?

If then you have judgments concerning things pertaining to this life, do you appoint those who are least esteemed by the church to judge?

I say this to your shame. Slide34

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS ETHICS OF MONEY AND THEFT

1 Corinthians 6:1-11

Is

it so, that there is not a wise man among you, not even one, who will be able to judge between his brethren?

But brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers

!Slide35

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS ETHICS OF MONEY AND THEFT

1 Corinthians 6:1-11

7

Now therefore, it is already an utter failure for you that you go to law against one another

.

Why do you not rather accept wrong? Why do you not rather let yourselves be cheated? Slide36

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS ETHICS OF MONEY AND THEFT

1 Corinthians 6:1-11

8

No, you yourselves do wrong and cheat, and

you do

 these things

to your

 brethren!

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Slide37

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS ETHICS OF MONEY AND THEFT

1 Corinthians 6:1-11

Do

not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor

homosexuals,

 nor sodomites,

10

nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, Slide38

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS ETHICS OF MONEY AND THEFT

1 Corinthians 6:1-11

nor

revilers,

nor extortioners

will inherit the kingdom of God.

11

And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were

justifiedSlide39

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS ETHICS OF MONEY AND THEFT

1 Corinthians 6:1-11

in

the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God

.Slide40

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS

ETHICS of MONEY

1) Never take

a

dispute between you and another brother before a secular humanist court.

2) The Church needs to specialize in confronting and resolving matters of stealing and money. Slide41

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS

ETHICS of MONEY

3

) Our focus in conflict resolution involving money, business and stealing must have as

its

first priority relationship resolution not money recovery. Slide42

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS

ETHICS of MONEY

4) Lovers of

money

and those who define relationships by

money,

WILL NOT inherit the KINGDOM OF GOD. Money must be put in its place in the

Church

. It is a tool not KING. Slide43

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS

ETHICS of AUTHORITY

How

are we as the CHURCH supposed to interact with the authorities of this world?

If

our values are so different, and they are, how are we to relate?Slide44

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS ETHICS OF AUTHORITY

ROMANS 13:1-7

Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Slide45

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS ETHICS OF AUTHORITY

ROMANS 13:1-7

2

Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.

For rulers are not a terror to good works

,Slide46

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS ETHICS OF AUTHORITY

ROMANS 13:1-7

but

to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same.

For he is God’s minister to you for good. Slide47

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS ETHICS OF AUTHORITY

ROMANS 13:1-7

But

if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to

execute

wrath on him who practices evil. Slide48

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS ETHICS OF AUTHORITY

ROMANS 13:1-7

5

Therefore

you

must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience’ sake.

For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God’s ministers attending continually to this very thing. Slide49

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS ETHICS OF AUTHORITY

ROMANS 13:1-7

7

Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes

are due,

customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor

.Slide50

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS

ETHICS of AUTHORITY

1

) The

authorities we live under MAY NOT DESERVE our honor and

respect,

but we are required to give it because of the commands of Christ. We are to be the examples modeling honor. Slide51

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS

ETHICS of AUTHORITY

2

) God

has placed every soul in its time and country,

city and

community for a reason and for a season (Acts 17:26-27).

3) We are not to propagate or broker the spirit of REBELLION! Slide52

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS

ETHICS of AUTHORITY

4) Treat the governmental authorities like you would like to be treated if you were in leadership.

5) Pay your taxes. And do not steal from the government. Slide53

Slide66

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS

ETHICS of MARRIAGE

Marriage

is in deep trouble because North American culture has rejected it as a sacred institution. Society today sees marriage as a breakable business union.

Slide67

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS

ETHICS of MARRIAGE

In 1837,

1 in 37 marriages ended in divorce in North America.

In

2012, 1 in 10 marriages ended in divorce.

Divorce

has increased over 150% in less than 100 years.

Slide68

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS

ETHICS of MARRIAGE

The

divorce rates in North America have declined since 2008 because less people are getting married. They simply do not trust marriage. 41% of marriages will end before

their

anniversary.

Slide69

Slide90

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS

ETHICS of MARRIAGE

2

) Marriage SHOULD NEVER be entered into lightly. It should have all the intended gravity of a COVENANT before God.

3) When marriage comes it should be see as the FINAL COVENANT not to be broken at all.

Slide91

MINISTERIAL

ETHICS

ETHICS of MARRIAGE

4

) All marriage advice SHOULD ALWAYS COME FROM THE BIBLE and God’s men and women of the WORD not from the world!

5) Divorce should never be in view in any pre-marriage arrangements.

Slide92

MINISTERIAL
