7. Advanced PlacementGOALTo help students develop the study skills, habits of mind and critical thinking skills that they will need in college. Students who take AP courses are given the chance to earn college credit (while still in high school) and to stand out in the college admissions process. MISD offers AP courses and exams in many subjects.Exams are administered each year in May.Score of 3 or higher can be considered for college credit. It is the responsibility of the student/parent to check with prospective colleges to see if AP scores will count for college credit. 17. STATE ASSESSMENT INFORMATIONIn addition to completing all coursework students must pass five EOC exams. English 1 English 2 Algebra 1 US History Biology .

General Information Seniors should focus on college application, scholarships, etc.Juniors should try to take the ACT/SAT at least once at the end of their junior year.Sophomores should maintain the best course average in each class.
