Cancer can be Traumatic Direct threat to life, invasive treatments Death of parent, d eath of sibling PTSD rates between 5 and 16% of cancer survivors (Stein, 2008). Studies have found significant levels of posttraumatic stress symptoms among siblings and offspring(Aldefer, Labay & Kazak, 2003; Boelen & Spuij, 2013).
