The site integrates existing landscape systems and agricultural heritage with new development that serves adjacent town residents and relocated farmers, while also transforming the location into a world-class regional tourist destination.By integrating historic ecologies, agriculture, and hydrology into the future industry and program of the town, the plan creates a city identi ed through an improved relationship with water. The site sets a new precedent for Chinese waterfront design by ltering level water into level water that’s safe for swimming and kayaking—an extremely rare circumstance in China.
