The Center for Colorectal and Pelvic Reconstruction (CCPR) at Nationwide Children’s Hospital is the world leader in clinical care and research for children born with rare pelvic anomalies.We investigate clinical outcomes of patients undergoing surgical and medical interventions for the treatment of anorectal malformations, Hirschsprung disease, functional constipation, and other congenital and acquired disorders that affect gastrointestinal, urologic, and gynecologic function.Center for Colorectal and Pelvic ReconstructionMedical Student Summer Research ExperienceWho We AreResearch Experience10 week intensive clinical research program.Broad exposure to ongoing retrospective and prospective research studies.Weekly lectures on a variety of topics from pediatric colorectal surgery, urology, gastroenterology, to research methods and study design.Clinic and operating room experience to augment ongoing research.Dr. Peter Lu, a pediatric gastroenterologist with expertise in motility disorders, lectures summer students on pediatric constipation.
