The conflict between the Rwandan Tutsi and Hutu communities took place between April and June of 1994, and caused a massive genocide of an estimated 800,000 people, mostly consisting of Tutsis. The attacks began with two Hutu government officials being shot down in their plane, which Hutus believed was caused by the Rwandan Patriotic Front, a Tutsi rebellion group. The RPF, however, denies this. They believe the Hutus performed this act for an excuse to start war. .
