Hearing God
“He
who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit
says…”
Many voices are calling for our
allegiance.
Who you listen to could have either have wonderful results or devastating consequences!
It’s essential to know what
God is saying to
you!Slide8

Get to know
His voice
Understand
His overall
purpose
Slide9
How’s your hearing?
We're wired by
God
our
Creator
to need regular time where we hear no voice but His
.
To tune in to God’s voice we must tune out this world’s noise
.
It requires
time and effort to
silence all the other chatter
so
you can only hear
His voice
.

THE CHOSEN TOOL
That
which
wins
human hearts to God and to His Christ is not usually an extraordinary display of power.
The still small voice within the conscience is God’s chosen instrument
to convert
and comfort the souls of men!Slide11
A Still Small Voice
1 K 19 Elijah was instructed by God to stand on the mountain
Then
the Lord sent a mighty wind which broke the rocks in pieces
;
Then
He sent an earthquake and
then a fire!
But God spoke to Elijah only through…
Divine silence does not necessarily mean divine inactivity.Slide12
What does God use to touch the heart?
As the breath of spring melts the glacier so the Holy Spirit softens the heart
.
The Spirit comes in tender love, revealing
Christ,
setting up the Cross of the Savior before the sinner’s tearful eyes and
offering
peace, pardon and salvation
.
It is less important how God speaks to us than what we do with what He says.Slide13
So what does He say?
To Abraham –
“Trust
Me – here’s what I’m going to
do”
Gen 12
To
the nation
of Israel
– “Follow Me – This is
the way to
blessing” Warnings
