Yes…this is a school field trip and The PRIDE of Mayfield is heading to “The Happiest Place on Earth!” We expect everyone to be on their BEST behavior, listen and follow all directions from the chaperones, and get along well with your roommates. Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. We are ALL on vacation and you are about to have one of your most memorable high school experiences ever!!

Hollywood Boulevard, Echo Lake, Sunset Boulevard, Streets of America, Commissary Lane, Pixar Place, Mickey Avenue and Animation Courtyard areas.

Uniforms, Equipment & Luggage Transport Information

ALL uniforms and instruments (with the exception of flutes and clarinets), will be driven down to Disney in our equipment truck.ALL students and parents who are registered through the travel company will have their luggage transported to Disney via the truck. Luggage will need to be brought up to the Mayfield High School on Saturday morning , 3/19 (exact time TBD).

Student luggage will be checked before being loaded onto the truck.The equipment/luggage truck will arrive at Disney on Monday, 3/21. Slide8

Medical ConcernsIn the event there is a student that requires medication, parents are required to fill out the necessary Medical Authorization forms.

These include:Authorization for OTC MedicationsAuthorization for Self-Administration of Asthma InhalersAllergy Action Plan Authorization for Prescription Medications

Medical Authorization forms are available this evening and should be filled out by parents/guardians/physicians (where applicable) and returned to school no later than 2/19/16. Slide9

What to BringRemember that Florida has a tropical climate. The temperatures vary only

by about 10 degrees. Evenings can be cool especially if there is a breeze. Be sure to bring a sweater or light jacket. In the event of rain, pack a rain slicker.

Mouthpieces, ligatures, sticks, mallets, lyres, flip folders and of course music!!!!Pack a swimsuit, shorts, short-sleeved shirts, a pair of jeans, and some good walking shoes. Sun block, sunglasses and a hat are a must. The sun is very intense in

Florida

and you don’t want to ruin your vacation by getting a sunburn.

Put

important papers (tickets, reservation confirmations

, ID’s,

etc

),

all medications, spare glasses, a change of clothing and any other valuables in your carry-on bag. Slide10

What to Bring (contd.)Don’t over pack, travel as lightly as possible.

Parents…please make sure your emergency contact information is up to date. (online Blue Card) Do not bring a large amount of cash! Get a VISA CARD that can be reloaded by your parents! These are available at your bank.State ID that has your picture, birth date, and proper name. These are available at the License Bureau for a nominal charge! School ID’s will no longer be accepted by TSA.

Please remember…. you are responsible for any and all of the extra things you bring! Examples…. IPods, IPads, phones, laptop computers, headphones, earbuds, electronics, jewelry, etc. are your responsibility if you bring them. If you bring electronic devices to listen to, you must have ear buds so that they cannot be heard beyond your person! Slide11

Let’s talk LuggageYou are permitted to bring a backpack on the airplane. It must fit under the seat in front of you.

We highly suggest bringing a change of clothes in the event the hotel rooms are not ready when we check in to the All Star Resort OR just wear what you plan on wearing in the park to make things easier.Please do not over pack! Slide12

Payment of TripThe final payment date for the trip was last Friday, January 22

nd.In the event you did not make the final payment, please contact the Travel Company directly to make arrangements as soon as possible.  1-800-859-5969 

Convenience Fee – was added to the final trip price. Please check your account if it was paid in full prior to December to pay the final convenience fee (approx. $34)Any individual that has not paid for the trip IN FULL prior to departure date will NOT be permitted to board the airplane.Slide13

Performance MUSTS:Band & Auxilliaries

All shoes must match and be in clean, polished conditionIf you have shoes that are falling apart, please plan on purchasing a replacement pair of shoes. We will order extras and should have those in within the next few weeks. Gloves – must be WHITE and clean!We are ordering extra gloves for the trip. Please plan on purchasing new gloves for the trip if your current pair are not bright white.

CommunicationAs we get closer to the trip, please keep a close eye for emails with updated trip information.

There will be another Disney parent/student meeting approximately 2 weeks before the trip to go over final details. Actual date TBD. To ensure communication during the trip goes smoothly, we will be using the GroupMe app.
