This produces a magnet bore which is ~ 7.5 X 7.5 X 6.5 m3, which is quite a bit larger than what is assumed in the DUNE CDR (4.5 X 4.5 X 8.0 m3)So, to work within that constraint, the TPC volume would be limited to ~ 4 X 4 m2 readout planes with a drift ≲ 2m. The TPC volume would be reduced from ~ 79 m3 to ~ 64 m3Need to take another look at the available ALICE chambers to see if the 4 X 4 m2 dimension could be pushed to 4 X 4.5 m2 by using their IROC chambers also.If not, we can live with a smaller magnet and save $$.The configuration, however, does NOT change.Magnet size

More engineering needs to be done on the pressure vessel and this could impact available volume for the tracker.I proposed a rather “radical” idea to Kathrine and Barry, but have not heard back.DANGER, DANGER , Will Robinson – Powerpoint engineering!Pressure vessel October 20 2017HPGasTPC meeting6
