1 . incorrigible (adj.) incapable of being corrected or reformed. Harry’s incorrigible habit of smoking has impaired our friendship..

2 . indefatigable (adj.) tireless     Edith’s indefatigable efforts as a volunteer at the nursing home were applauded.

3 . indigent (adj.) poverty-stricken. Once a wealthy and formidable boxer, Rocco is now indigent amd living on the streets.

4. ingratiate (v.) to make oneself acceptable. The bouquet of roses was Joe’s scheme to ingratiate himself with Marilyn, so she would go out with him.

5 . innocuous (adj.) harmless. Who would have thought that my innocuous comment would have started such a big fight?

6 . inscrutable (adj.) so mysterious that it cannot be understood. The inscrutable note was ho help to us in finding the treasure..

7 . insipid (adj.) lacking interest or spirit Wally’s insipid personality was the complete opposite of his fun-loving sister’s.

10 . intractable (adj.) hard to manage.   The intractable colt ran off rather than be saddled.
