Table topics provide those members not assigned a meeting role an opportunity to speak during the meeting. Table topics also help members learn to think and speak on their feet. This helps them perfect their

ex-stem-poraneous

speaking skills. Each table topic speaker gets a subject from our Table Topic Master. They have 1-2 minutes to give an impromptu speech on that subject. Our timekeeper keeps track of the time.

After 1 minute of speaking the green light will come on. After 1.5 min. the yellow light will come on and after 2 min. the red light will come on. You have 30 sec. to wrap up your speech. You must speak for a

minimum of 1 minute however, to qualify.

Next on our agenda is the Ah Counter’s report. When speaking, people often use crutch words or fillers such as: “ah”, “um”, “you know”, “well”, or they repeat a word or phrase. The Ah Counter helps us become aware these words and sounds.

When there are infractions on our Ah Counter and Grammarian reports, we have to feed the

piggy. Those who names were called please feed the Piggy 5 cents

for each infraction to a maximum of 25 cents.
