MandateEphesians 4:29

“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which us good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers”.EG. White. Evangelism

, pg. 128"The character and importance of our work are judged by the efforts made to bring it before the public.“

Conviction

We believe as the communications department that God has placed upon us a great and solemn responsibility to assist every worker at the TOC office to effectively communicate, within and beyond the TOC borders effectively; properly, maintaining our church brand and communicating the love and sacrifice of our Saviour Jesus Christ. At a time where the reputation of the church has been tainted less of integrity and many voices seek to rise as official, we understand it to be our role to ensure that our communication must be correct, true, and builds a bridge of hope to all those we come across.CommitmentWe are committed to be our best and ensuring that the TOC family never remains in the dark, but through all means possible, make it possible for the office, workers and the entire church share the right information. We have made it our burden that the stranger within our gates, should never be compelled to return without help or attention, but that we can be of help even in our absence, by placing measures of help that all may be saved.PleaWe ask for your prayers and support as we undertake this task of serving you and doing our earnest part in His vineyard!

“Building Bridges of Hope”

Communications Department Strategic PlanSlide4

PurposeThe communications department seeks to build bridges of hope while it

endeavors to create a favorable image of the church and its mission, life, and activities that will encourage people to become followers of Christ.

These bridges may be accomplished by building trust among groups of people by the sharing of accurate information using contemporary technologies and methods of communication to reach the diverse audiences, both within and without the church, with an open, responsible, and hope-filled communication program

AnalysesWeaknesses

Our department may lose the required support if not realized as major in the core mission of the church.ThreatsThe minimal attention provided for this department and lack of staff; threatens the growth to communicate our brand in real time, correctly, within the policies of the SDA church to our members and the world at large. We may miss the opportunity to mingle as the salt is expected within the borders of the church and beyond.

StrengthsInformation Technology makes our lives easier and more convenient to communicate. We therefore want to take advantage of the revolution of faith as expressed by the TOC family and move into the future with the required speed to realize faster results as we build the bridges of hope. We don’t see a difference between communication and technology in our modern day.

Opportunities

We are ministering in a post modern day, without a doubt we know that communication is key. The recent history of our conference exposed us to the lack of correct, real time and official information that our desk should provide. We therefore are putting our plough in the fattened soil, ready for cultivation; as the world seeks the correct image of a church ready for her Saviour. Through E-Ministries we rich millions in seconds to communicate the three angels message, and through the toll free line; we are ever present to souls seeking the touch of The Lord through our ministry, this method copies the attribute of our God, the One who never sleeps no slumbers, but watches over Israel. Our department avail the TOC out of office 24/7, and 365 days, with the ability of retrieving from the memory lane.Communications Department Strategic Plan
