This is an anime that has a divided community due to the way it can be interpreted. There are negative and positive religious views of its symbols.Slide4

In a post on a forum, someone that views the bible as fact interprets the destructive nature of the angels as justified: it is the price man pays for playing God (The True Nature of the Angels).Slide5
A negative view
To me the destructive nature of angels in the show is an allegory of the way religion constantly tries to hold science back.Slide6
