A simple machine is any of the basic mechanical devices for applying a force, such as an inclined plane, wedge, or lever.. Simple machines are utilized to reduce the amount of force required to perform work, initiate or resist motion, break or split molecular bonds of solids, or keep two non-molecularly-bonded solid objects bound together..
What is a Simple Machine?. A simple machine has few or no moving parts.. Simple machines make work easier. Wheels and Axles. The wheel and axle are a simple machine. The axle is a rod that goes through the wheel which allows the wheel to turn.
Why do we use machines?. Machines make doing work easier.. But they do not decrease the work that you do.. Instead, they . change the way you do work.. In general you trade more force for less distance or less force for more distance.
Physical Systems: Simple Machines. Simple Machines. A simple machine is a device, composed of only one or two parts, that requires a single force to work.. The stapler works by applying a single downward force at its open end. .
November 24. th. -25. th. . Goal:. I will be able to explain the relationship between mass, force and distance traveled. . I will be able to describe the difference between different simple machines. .
2. SIMPLE MACHINES - LEVER. A lever is a rigid bar that rotates around a fixed point called the fulcrum.. The bar may be either straight or curved.. In use, a lever has both an effort (or applied) force and a load (resistant force). .
Pay attention. Simple Machines. Simple machines assist us in doing work by creating a mechanical advantage.. They . do not . change the amount of work; they lower the effort force. There are 6 types of simple machines: lever, inclined plane, pulley, wedge, screw, and wheel and axle..
Simple Machines. A simple machine has few or no moving parts.. Simple machines make work easier.. With or without a simple machine the work is the same.. Also when simple machines are combined they can make complicated bigger machines..
Inclined Plane, Wedge, Screw, Lever, Wheel & Axle, Pulley.. By: . Shae. Anderson. What is a simple machine?. A simple device for altering the magnitude or direction of a force. . A simple machine has few or no moving parts..
