A Demonstration What youre about to see is a quick depiction of how the Flanker Task was conducted Each subject participated in the experiment in blocks of 32 trials The subject was asked to first focus their attention on a fixation point affixed a ½ degree below the target letter yet to be presented and after a delay of 1 second the target letter appeared either alone or with a series of flanker letters The subject was asked to identify whether the target letter was an H or K S or C by pressing a left or right lever The subjects responses were timed and upon the identification of the target letter a new trial would begin.
