This program utilizes half ice competition, most commonly referred to as small ice. This type of competition helps develop puck handling skills. The smaller area of competition allows for a greater quantity of puck touches. The goalies in 3 on 3 face more shots and are forced to stay focused all the time. 5 on 5 These age division programs are designed to provide an atmosphere of competition among their peers . These programs are created to provide a concentrated discipline in identified skill develop- ment. Each player ’ s desired development and assessed needs will be combined for a group development program. The potential for a wide talent curve will be addressed with multiple instructors per session as enrollment requires it. Each program will be held once a week for 8 weeks, D155.00. 10U - Friday 4:15 pm - 5:15 pm 14U - Friday 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm 20U - Wednesday 6:45 pm - W:45 pm Skating is the most important skill to develop in the game of hockey. It is a skill that requires the most attention to detail and is generally the least worked on. Sure every hockey player skates a lot, but most often proper technique is not observed. Skating with power, agility, and speed with the utmost efficiency is an asset unsurpassed in hockey. 3kill Development 0ower 3kating 3 on 3 Mites Squirts PeeWees Bantams Midgets Mites Squirts PeeWees Bantams Divisions: 10U, 14U, and 20U Divisions: 13U and 14 & up ——————————————— The purpose of these two programs is to instruct proper technique, correct inefficiencies, and develop strong skating habits. Each program will be held once a week for 8 weeks, D155.00. Practiced inefficiency makes proper technique more difficult to achieve than learning correct form from the start. 13U - Thursday 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm 14 & up - Thursday 6:45 pm - W:45 pm Scheduled times for each division : Mites Monday 4:15 pm – 5:15 pm Squirts Monday 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm PeeWee Monday 6:45 pm — W:45 pm Bantam Tuesday 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm Skill set will be the determining factor on divisional participation. The weekly sessions will consist of supervised full ice scrimmages. Coaching will not be a part of the supervision. This program is designed to allow the development of skills the participant chooses to develop. In stark contrast to 3 on 3, full ice scrim- mages tend to develop skating stride, speed, and long passing. Supervision will emphasize fun and fair ice time. We are not staffed to babysit your player in the locker room before or after ice sessions. Each youth age group program will meet once a week for 8 weeks, D155.00. Players are encouraged to bring a variety of jersey colors. 16 weeks D2W5.00. June/July Mites – Thursday 4:15 pm Squirts – Wednesday 5:30 pm PeeWee – Friday 6:45 pm Bantam – Friday 8:00 pm Midget – Monday 8:00 pm August / September Mite/Squirt – Monday 6:45 pm PeeWee/Bantam - Wednesday 8:00 pm Midget – Wednesday 9:15 pm For me this has been my favorite program since the start of Young Guns. Watching the players develop confidence in handling the puck is very gratifying. Elite -en Elite Women These two programs are solely determined by skill set. Designed to help the dedicated young prospect with an opportunity to play with and against the best the Peninsula has to offer. A chance for those that have experience to share and the determined prospect to learn in a supervised competitive scrimmage atmos- phere. Once a week for 16 weeks, D2W5.00 Scheduled to meet as follows: June/July: Elite Men - Wednesday 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm Aug/Sept: Elite Men - Friday 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm June/July: Elite Women - Tuesday 8:00 - 9:00 pm Aug/Sept: Elite Women - Tuesday 9:15 pm - 10:15 pm ——————————————— 2usty Blade 0rogram This program is purely recreational for ages 18 and up. It is designed for the beginning novice to the aging experienced player. This program is as important or even more than the other programs scheduled for our summer session. Program cost is D2W5.00, once a week for 16 weeks. Scheduled Thursday 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm Summer ice has been missing on the critical steps of development for our young hockey players. As we have all experienced the lack of ice and what that meant to us when we were young, it is our hope that the adults will con- tinue to help our youth by participating in these programs. This is a purely recreational, low pressure program designed to help beginner to intermediate skill level participants get more on - ice experience. Women ’ s program is 16 weeks long, D2W5.00 June/July: Tuesday 6:45 pm – W:45 pm Aug/Sept: Tuesday 8:00 pm – 9:00 pm 5 on 5 Novice Women
