Christians and the environment...

Looking after something so it can be passed on to the next generation.

Having a duty to do or be held accountable for something.

The power or right of governing and controlling.

The act of creating the universe.Slide17

STEWARDSHIP

:

Humans are looking after the earth for God – they are temporary keepers and so must ensure they return it in the condition God would want.

AUTHORITY/DOMINION:

Humans are in charge of the natural world. Some see this as meaning they can therefore do as they want with the world as it belongs to them.

RESPONSIBILITY:

God has given human beings the gift of the world and they have a duty to ensure it is passed on to future generations.

CREATION:

God created the world and everything in it – humans must therefore show respect and protect God’s creation.
