Introduction

A shared universe is a universe with multiple different series and stories in the same universe. This can lead to crossovers. The concept of shared universes have been around for decades. But none has made the idea more popular than the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

After this presentation I hope everyone will give the Marvel Cinematic Universe a chance.

I am going to tell you some of the history and why the films are worth giving a shot.

Let’s jump into the cinematic universe.

History

First talks about the MCU was discussed in the early 2000s by a man with a named Kevin Fiege.

Doubts were made considering the fact that the idea of a cinematic universe seemed farfetched to many and a recipe for failure.

Not only that, a lot of Marvel’s A list properties such as Spider-Man, X-Men and the Fantastic Four was at different studios.

Despite this, in 2005 official plans for the MCU began with the first film being Iron Man.

Despite doubts, Iron Man was successful despite being a B list character who wasn’t that popular and one of the highest rated comic book movies.

Reason #1: The Build Up

The scene you just saw right there was the scene that blew everyone’s minds for the first time. It was the scene where the world saw all of The Avengers on screen fighting side by side for the first time in cinema.

Marvel was able to build up The Avengers for four years with five films. Marvel did the impossible and developed multiple films in the same universe that all leaded up to one huge epic film and many more to come.

Reason #2 The Interactions

In the MCU you can get multiple interactions between different superheroes. It feels like a comic book come to life.

You can go from Bruce Banner and Tony Stark bonding over science to Captain America and Iron Man clashing ideologies.

You can get different cameos in other superhero films such as Iron Man in Spider-Man Homecoming or Falcon in Ant-Man.

Reason #3: It’s a Universe

The MCU isn’t just movies. There’s also TV shows. A lot of the Netflix shows such as Luke Cage, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and more are in the same universe as the movies. You can go from the Guardians of the Galaxy flying through space to The Defenders saving New York city in the streets.

Counter Argument

Many people love the MCU, but other people are fans of the DC Extended Universe instead.

This is mainly because the MCU has a lot of comedy and people like their films more serious and having a dark tone.

They also dislike the fact every Marvel movie gets positive reception despite the cinematic universe has some lackluster films.

Conclusion

The goal of this presentation is to persuade you to watch the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I expect the audience to check out the films.

You should watch the MCU because of the superheroes interacting, the build up and the expanded universe.

I encourage you to all watch the MCU
