Detail belongs in Policy, Procedure, and other administrative documents for ease of access, updating, and approvals as our processes evolve.
Examples:
Voting, ballots – operational information; covered in Membership and Business Meetings policies and procedures
Board of Trustees officer and trustee detail – moved to areas of policy, procedure, and job descriptions
Explanation of Committees and Groups – operational information; moved to Policy and Procedure
Identification of specific Committees – names and tasks change, or are replaced
Amendments – high level description remains; detail moved to Business Meetings procedure<br>
slide7. Detail defined by organizational purpose Bylaws: The legal language that succinctly defines who we are as a church. Our Bylaws include the elements necessary to be recognized as a non-profit organization affiliated with the UUA and in the eyes of the State of Illinois. Bylaws Policies: Clear, concise, general statements that provide the framework for decisions and actions to be made in the context of who we are and the values we share as a church. They are the rules governing the implementation of processes and procedures by the Staff, Board, and Volunteers at DuPage UU Church. Procedures: Procedures represent the detailed instruction necessary to implement policy. Unlike many policies, process and procedure should evolve over time as new tools emerge.
