There was a huge storm ( a squall) whist Jesus and his disciples were crossing the Sea of Galilee
The disciples, although experienced fishermen, were very afraid
Jesus slept through the storm
His disciples woke him and asked him if he cared
Jesus spoke to the winds and waves and calmed them Now what
Turn to Jesus rather than focus on the waves
Trust him – and see the difference So What
Jesus is not just a good teacher; He is the Son of God
He has authority over nature
Jesus calls us to trust him when we encounter storms in our own lives<br>

slide16. The Bible says….. Jesus Calms the Storm
That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”<br>
slide17. The Bible says….. He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”

Jesus loves us and wants to guide us though the storms of life
We need to stop looking at the storm and turn our eyes upon Jesus.<br>

And deeper than a submarine.
He’s wider than the universe
