Notes and Guidance
In previous blocks throughout KS2, children have learnt about using noun phrases and expanded noun phrases in sentences.
A noun phrase is made up of a noun and words that modify the noun. These words include articles such as the; determiners such as my, adjectives, and prepositional phrases. They act in exactly the same way as a common noun in a sentence.
In this step, children will recognise and use concise noun phrases effectively in sentences and within paragraphs in both fiction and non-fiction texts.
