Manager’s First Step - Adding 23/24 Goals & Key Responsibilities The first step in the online process will be to add each employees’ 23/24 goals set during the last evaluation period in NeoGov.
You do not need to add any ratings for the goals during this first step.
In the future, you will be able import the goals and key responsibilities into the evaluation from year to year and/or update employee goals and key responsibilities.<br>

Manager Rating
The Manager’s Rating Step in the evaluation process is an opportunity for managers to evaluate their employees during their current evaluation period.This includes the same information and ratings scales as the previous annual evaluation forms. Documents with information regarding goal setting, competencies, and how to complete the ratings in a fair and balanced manner are available at the bottom of the evaluation page in NeoGov.Any information or comment box bordered in red is required to be completed.<br>

Core Competencies
Core Competencies – The new Perform online process uses the same compentencies and ratings scales as previous forms.
Please comment on the competencies using specific examples and job performance information. Note: Very high and very low scores will require a comment to support the score – the comment box will have a red outline when it is required.<br>

Goals & Key Responsibilities
Goals and Key Responsibilities will be set with your employees for the evaluation period and then evaluated during the rating portion of the evaluation process.Use SMART goals as you work to set new goals for FY 24/25. The SMART goal information is available in an attachment at the bottom of the evaluation in Perform.During this review, you will need to enter the information from last year’s review. In the future, you will be able to import prior year information for goals and key responsibilities.<br>

How To Access Perform Log into Neogov through SSO.
This will take you to your Dashboard.
The Dashboard is where you will see all of your Performance Tasks (Neogov log in > Dashboard > My Tasks).
From the Dashboard you can access your Employees’ Evaluations.
To access your employees’ evaluations, you will select “Performance” and then select “My Team’s Evaluations”.<br>

Click on “New Goal & Key Responsibility”<br>

Enter each Goal or Key Responsibility based on last year’s evaluation and click “Save and Add Another”. You will rate the goals in a Manager’s Rating step.Enter 3-5 total Goals and/or Key Responsibilities then click the green “Save” button. You can leave the due date blank.
A default date of the evaluation due date can be used as long as it is prior to the date you will rate the employee.<br>

When complete click the green “Submit Content” button on the left. A popup box will confirm you are finished or you can return to add more content. In future years, you will be able to update this information rather than enter new goals.<br>

You can now see the first task completed. To complete the rating for your employee, click on the “Rate” button on the right of step 3.If you begin rating your employee before they complete their self-evaluation, they will no longer be able to access their self-evaluation to complete it.<br>

Complete each rating on the left. The red “Needs Attention” symbol will change to a green “Completed” symbol when done. You do not have to complete the entire evaluation in one sitting, it will save your progress if you have saved the current goal or rating you are working on.You must then click on the “Submit Evaluation” button on the top right to finish the evaluation. It will turn green once you have completed all ratings.<br>

Click on the section on the left. Then click on the section box on the right to complete the rating.<br>

Choose the rating, enter your comments, then click “Next” at the top right. High or low scores require a comment; the comment box will have a red outline when required.<br>

When the core competencies are complete, you will return to the evaluation screen. Click on “Add Item” to the right of Updated Performance Goal Planning, choose “New Goal & Key Responsibility”.<br>

Enter 3-5 New Goals and/or Key Responsibilities for the upcoming year and save them. This is the same process you used to add the prior year’s goals.Leave the date blank or use the default date of June 30th of the next year.<br>

On the left, if your employee has completed the optional self-evaluation, you will be able to review it here. You will be able to add comments, but not change the feedback from your employee.You can also view the overall rating and summary. The goals and key responsibilities will automatically calculate based on how many are entered.On the right, the “Submit Evaluation” button will turn green once you have entered the new goals and key responsibilities.<br>

When you submit the evaluation, you will confirm it is complete. You will receive a successful submission notice. Once submitted, expect 3-5 business days for HR to review and sign off on the evaluation. If there are no changes needed, schedule a time to review the information together with your employee.<br>

Once you have completed the evaluation, HR will review it, then it will be released for the employee to review and sign.Once the employee has signed, you will receive an email and notice on your dashboard to sign the evaluation. Click on the task and “Sign” the evaluation. If you want to make additional comments, you can do so during the signature process.<br>

The evaluation is now complete and you will be able to review it in Perform in the future. There is also the option to print it at the top right.<br>

Employee Journal Entries
Notes and/or attachments that an employee can make about their accomplishments, tasks completed, or areas of development to note.From the Dashboard or the person’s profile, Neogov allows managers and employees to make notes throughout the year. The person making the note determines who it is shared with through Neogov, though notes are not required to be shared with anyone. If you choose to share it with your manager, notes are available during the review process as reminders for the managers.<br>

How To Create A Journal Entry To create a journal entry, first log into Neogov.
When you are logged in, you will be sent to the Dashboard.
Under Quick Actions on the right hand side you will select “Write A Journal Entry”.
A window will appear and you will be asked “who is this entry about” you will select the drop down and select the employee you wish to write about. Then a text box will appear.<br>
