ORDINANCE RELATING TO MBA Tourism and Travel JNU – IITTM Contents Short Title Definitions Eligibility of Admissions Duration of the Program Credit requirements Evaluation Examination Grade Point Requirements/Minimum Standard Constitution of the Academic Committee Quorum Powers and functions of the Academic Committee Meeting of the Academic Committee Appointment of Faculty Scrutiny Jurisdiction Short Title This Ordinance will be called the JNU – IITTM MBA (Regular) Ordinance 2023. It shall come into force on a date of MoU between JNU and IITTM i.e. 6th of July, 2023 at JNU Campus, New Delhi as specified by the authorities of the University for the 2023-24 academic session. Definition “Act” means The Jawaharlal Nehru University Act, 1966 “Academic Council” The Academic Council shall be the academic body of the JNU, and its constitution and the terms of office of its members, other than ex-officio members, shall be prescribed by its Statues. The Academic Council shall, subject to the provisions of this Act, the Statutes and the Ordinances, have the control and general regulation, and be responsible for the maintenance of standards of instruction, education and examination within the University, and shall exercise such other powers and perform such other duties as may be conferred or imposed upon it by the Statutes. “Institute” means the multi-campus institute i.e. Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management abbreviated as IITTM, with it’s headquarters at Gwalior and present centers at Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh), Bhubaneswar (Odisha), NOIDA (Uttar Pradesh), Nellore (Andhra Pradesh) and Goa plus its present camp offices at Bodh Gaya (Bihar) and Shillong (Meghalaya), which has been named as a recognized institute by the University in terms of Section 5(13) of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Act of 1966 for the purpose of instruction and research leading to the award of MBA (Master of Business Administration) regular degree of the University. Definition (cont..) “Academic year” means a period of twelve (12) months having two semesters, as proposed by the institute and decided by the University. “Academic Committee” means the “Academic Committee of the Institute” “Competent Authority” means “Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of JNU and Director IITTM”. “University” means Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Eligibility of Admission A candidate shall be eligible for admission to the program leading to the award of MBA Degree in Tourism and Travel Management: he/she has obtained a Bachelor’s degree under 10+2+3 pattern recognized by the University as proposed by IITTM and decided by the University
