125 to 256 contact hours in each practicum course
Preferably at same site location with same preceptor
May be able to complete practicum at place of employment and even possibly during work hours
May not be completed in an academic setting
Hours must be completed within the 8 week session 4 courses x 125-256 hours per practicum course = 500-1024 total hours<br>

Your practicum site may be where you are employed
You may contact the Project Practicum Advice Team to determine the best site and preceptor considering your individual goals<br>

slide9. Preceptor Select a preceptor who has expertise in their area of interest with the required qualifications
Ideally, your preceptor will be a nurse with a doctoral degree
Your preceptor is the contact in the practicum site
If your preceptor is not onsite, you will need to have an onsite contact person
Preferred that your preceptor not be your direct supervisor<br>

Submit to the faculty for review and approval
Contact you upon Chamberlain approval, or, to ask for more items if necessary
Reach out to your site and preceptor to secure clinical affiliation agreement<br>

Must be evidence-based showing a linkage between the intervention and the outcome
Evaluation of the change (I) in a specific setting and population (P) using established evaluation criteria to evaluate the outcome (O)
Outcome must be a practice change rather than just a change in knowledge<br>
slide20. Potential DNP Project Outcomes Improved physical findings (e.g., BP, weight, BMI, cholesterol) or other objective indicators
Reduced pain, stress, anxiety or other subjective indicators Decreased cost of care
Improved staff nurse retention
Shorter length of stay
Improved culture of safety
