Unauthorized Commitment Defined An unauthorized commitment (UAC) is a purported agreement that is not binding because the Government representative who made it lacked the authority to enter into that agreement on behalf of the Government. [FAR 1.602-3(a)]

Unauthorized commitments may occur where no formal contract exists or during contract performance.

FY 18 NPS - zero UACs
FY 19 NPS - 2 UACs
FY 20 NPS – 7 UACs
