Status update to the Reports of Portfolio Committee Budget Vote 9 9 NOVEMBER 2021 Government's Economic Response to COVID-19 In response to the devastating impact of COVID-19 on lives and livelihoods, government implemented a raft of economic interventions, most notably the notably the R500 billion socio-economic relief package. While some of the interventions were once-off regulatory/policy changes, others such as economic relief schemes were implemented over an extended period. Progress on key relief measures is presented herein: Government's Economic Response to COVID-19 In response to the devastating impact of COVID-19 on lives and livelihoods, government implemented a raft of economic interventions, most notably the notably the R500 billion socio-economic relief package.
