SLDS 2019 Grant Application<br>
slide6. ODS Upgrade: Ed-Fi 3.0 6 TEA is planning to update the TSDS Operational Data Store (ODS) to Ed-Fi version 3.x in the 2022-2023 school year. Upgrading to the latest version of Ed-Fi will allow for the following:
The ability for LEAs to submit transactional data via Ed-Fi APIs;
The ability for LEAs to submit data to the agency from multiple source systems utilizing the Ed-Fi data standard;
Achieving the goal of one data collection thus reducing redundant data collections;
Reducing TEA-specific ODS extensions and complexity by aligning with the Ed-Fi data standards and Ed-Fi ODS schema when possible;
Improving system performance for LEA data submission;
Leveraging Ed-Fi tools and utilities to support data standard management and documentation; and
Reducing time LEAs spend preparing data for submission to TEA.<br>
slide7. Current Milestones Currently mapping 1.0 to 3.2;
October 2020: 2021-2022 3.x Data Standards published
October 2020: Call for participation of Vendors and LEAs to participate in the pilot
January 2022: Pilot for 2021-2022 school year begins

slide9. studentGPS® Dashboards 9 The studentGPS® Dashboards were disabled by TEA on March 2, 2020.
The dashboard data elements that are not used for other TSDS collections will be removed beginning with the 2020-2021 school year.
Refer to the TWEDS 2020.1.0 Change Log for a listing of data elements and code tables to be removed.
The TEA Performance Reporting Division is currently working on a pilot for creating visualizations for the Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR). The pilot will be focusing on specific data categories previously available in the studentGPS® Dashboards.<br>

Develop or improve existing SLDS infrastructure to improve linking and use of education data in the state
Outcome 1: Upgrade validation processes and framework
Outcome 2: Create a parallel environment and integrate downstream systems
Outcome 3: Create a pilot program for LEAs and ESCs
Outcome 4: Improve reporting performance and scalability<br>
