Over 52 participants from ACE Impact centres and ACE II Key Focus Areas Role of a Communications Expert Development & implementation of Diverse Communication Strategies Website Content Management Use of various Social Media Tools Improving Internal and External Communications Media Relations CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT: PHYSICAL AND VIRTUAL WORKSHOPS Virtual Workshop Held from 6th – 7th of April 2021 Over 65 participants from ACE Impact centres Presentations both in French & English Key Focus Areas Importance of ACE Impact project & communications for Africa’s Integration agenda Fact sheet development Website support and development Success story development Photography dos and don’ts ACE IMPACT NEWSLETTER & IMPACT STORIES Redesigned and relaunched at the beginning of 2021: 3 Issues released thus far (January-March/April-June/July-September)- 99.5% delivery rate, over 574 opens. Covers specific sections such as: ACE In Focus – highlighting the achievements of an ACE with every newsletter Website of the month – acknowledging ACEs efforts in website improvement Social media account of the month – highlighting increased efforts of centres’ engagement with social media News & highlights – covering highlights from all ACEs including scholarships, awards, workshops & more ACE Impact Stories ACE Impact Stories: Efforts are being made to collect impact stories from across the project. The team, along with the support of the ACE centres, have been compiling stories focusing on areas such as Leadership (female Centre leaders), innovative research, alumni experiences, awards and recognitions and much more. Stories are crucial for presenting the benefits and the human impact of the project and centres They help personalise the centres to their audience, attracting more students, partnerships etc. Factsheets MEDIA ENGAGEMENT 1. Engagement with online media portals: Features in the University World News- Articles on ACE Impact are one of the most widely read 2. Collaboration with the AAU TV Production of a series of educational documentaries on the different centres of excellence Developing shorter video content
