Meditation Thought " And the earth helped the woman [church], and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood [the wicked] which the dragon cast out of his mouth. Rev. 12:16 1TG14: 16.1: Here we see that a similar remedy which caused isms to cease in Moses' day, is again to be used to cause isms to cease in our day, the only means by which harmony can be restored among fellow-members in the church itself, as well as among Christians in general.And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed [with those that are spared], which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ....for the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy." Rev. 12:17; 19:102TG45: 9.4: This passage reveals that the remnant, those who are left after the earth swallows the dragon's flood which is now threatening to do away with the woman (the ever-living church), are the ones who as a group keep the commandments of God, and have "the testimony of Jesus Christ." It is then, not now, that the remnant as a body truly keeps the commandments of God, still has the Spirit of Prophecy in its midst , and is the remnant in fact , and no longer merely in prospect or in theory . 4

Unparalleled, therefore, is the urgency that every eleventh-hour church member now quickly and solidly brace himself against the Enemy's effort to deliver a knockout blow. We must be alert, too, to realize that the blow is to come from surprisingly unsuspected foes -- from professed friends of the gospel, who are no less pious than were priests in Christ's day. It is, moreover, but to be expected that the Adversary will employ every agency possible to prevent the Lord from disclosing to view His now obscure 144,000 first-fruit servants, who are to go gather in the second fruits (Rev. 7:9). The Enemy will try everything conceivable to confuse, becloud, and cover up the Truth, especially on the subject of the 144,000 .

Carmel Center on September 29 to its new and permanent home location for the proclamation of the message of the "True Witness to the Laodiceans." -- "Testimonies for the Church," Vol. 3, p. 253.” SR2: 104.1: As John Knox came with additional truth, the leaders of the church refused to be interested, thus necessity gave birth to the Presbyterian denomination. These experiences have been repeated with Wesley, Campbell, Miller, and White. (See "The Shepherd's Rod," Vol. 1, pp. 32-114.) "We have far more to fear from within than from without. The hindrances to strength and success are far greater from the church itself than from the world." -- Review and Herald, March 22, 1887. If the danger against the church has been from within, through confidence in self-deceived leadership in every age, what would change things at the present time?Who is the sealing message entrusted to?9 Who is the sealing message entrusted to?

5SC1-5: 8.2.6 QUESTION NO 196: "In view of the greatness of the work and the shortness of the time, why is the work of the sealing message going as slowly as it is?"ANSWER:5SC1-5: 8.2.7: The reason that the work of the sealing message is moving as slowly as it is, is to be found in the fact that a "mixed multitude" of laborers has evidently come into the message, as God's people travel on toward the path of holiness leading to His kingdom. Thus it has been with every message, and thus it must be now.Why is the sealing message not making better headway?10

5SC1-5 : 9.1.1: Though Jesus' work at His first advent was not so extensive as now, yet it was of even greater importance and of shorter duration than the work of today, yet seemingly it made no progress whatsoever. When we consider that all forsook Him at His trial, and that Peter, the most zealous of the apostles, even cursed and swore that he was not Christ's disciple. Yet, contrary to all appearances, Jesus declared while hanging on the cross, that His work was finished, and thus He gave up the ghost. Then, too, after His resurrection, He took His journey upward, and left but a dozen half-converted apostles to carry on the work. Such were the results of John the Baptist's and Jesus' untiring efforts. Hence, out of the multitudes that were baptized by John and Jesus, there were, on the day of Pentecost, but a hundred and twenty disciples of one accord to receive the outpouring of God's Spirit.Why did Christ's First Advent Movement got held back?13

5SC1-5: 9.1.2: Indeed, not only small and insignificant did the work then appear to be, but also impossible to carry forward. Nevertheless, as the doubting ones among the great multitude saw an open door in Jesus' crucifixion, they separated themselves from among the faithful . And as the remaining ones of His followers lost confidence in themselves, renounced self, and sought the Lord earnestly at a time when there was not in themselves even the least hope of continuing the work, they gave the Lord an opportunity to manifest His great power and to advance the cause of God with such rapidity that in one day, with one sermon, there were converted three thousand souls. Then daily after that were added "only such as should be saved"--such as never backslid. Thus did the work of the gospel begin to grow rapidly, once the Lord got a group of people that He could trust and use.Why did Christ's First Advent Movement got held back?14

5SC1-5: 9.1.3: Likewise, the 1844 movement, right after the Minneapolis Camp Meeting in 1888, would have begun the work of the Loud Cry angel, but as the result of the unbelief of many in the Testimonies of the Spirit of God , the "cry" was silenced for forty years while the movement retreated "toward Egypt." 5SC1-5 : 9.2.1: Therefore, though at times we are greatly disappointed as we see the unfaithful, doubting, fault finding multitude among us; as we think of those who have forsaken the Lord; as we hear some when on trial even cursing and swearing that they are "not followers of The Shepherd's Rod;" and as we come in touch with those who apparently believe and who declare that they stand strongly for the message, but who are throwing rocks at us and at our work, we are not at all discouraged but rather made glad to stand alone for truth and righteousness when the majority forsake us. Hence, we cannot but exclaim:5SC1-5: 9.2.2: Lord, help us to stand true unto Thee though the whole world forsake Thee, even though we must die like the apostles if needs be, that we may be as Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego--standing true at the peril of our lives, so that Thou canst have the opportunity of delivering us from the lion's den, and from the fiery furnace, making Thyself known to all the world through our faithfulness. ……. 29 Why is the sealing message being held back?

5SC1-5 : 9.2.2: ……. May we , as Noah, be zealous in the building of the ark while our professed brethren in the message question and criticize the work and position of others ("Testimonies for the Church," Vol. 5, p. 690)--retard the progress of the message--and while others make fun of us, and accuse us of taking too much upon ourselves. May we never say: The Lord delayeth His coming; nor, "We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we....The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight." (Num. 13:31-33.)30Why is the sealing message being held back?

Ox-plow Stage of the Sealing Message TN6: 40.1: “….. emerge from the mattock stage into the ox-plow stage -- the stage which will see all the believers of Present Truth (except the "lesser cattle") unitedly go forth to dig or plow other "hills" until all the thorns and briers shall be uprooted throughout the land, the ground broken up, and the vineyard restored even beyond its original excellency. Thus reclaimed, it will be a place not only "for the sending forth of oxen," missionaries, but also for the "Treading of Lesser Cattle.“TN6: 39.3: “….. each "hill" or church locality being digged will become a place "for the sending forth of oxen." In brief, at this particular time He will be sending missionaries into His neglected vineyard (church) instead of into the Gentile world. 35

Ox-plow Stage of the Sealing Message Pure Message. Ezekiel's prophecy revealing itself to be a message for the church today, the prophet, himself, must necessarily, then, represent the messengers who carry the message to the church at the time appointed. And in response to the Lord's command, "Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee," Ezekiel's reply, "Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness" (Ezek. 2:8; 3:3), shows that the messengers obey the Lord and love His Word above everything else. {TN1: 27.3}37

Ox-plow Stage of the Sealing Message Pure Message. "And I," said the Lord, "will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb,... But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house." Ezek. 3:26, 27. {TN1: 28.1} This positive declaration by the Lord, Himself, manifests that the message be unadulterated -- the pure truth, proof absolute against contamination of man's utterance. The messengers, being made dumb, can speak only when He opens their mouths, and only what He puts in their mouths -- a "Thus saith the Lord God." Taking no credit to themselves, they are to Exalt Inspiration. {TN1: 28.2} 38

Ox-plow Stage of the Sealing Message TN1: 27.3: Ezekiel's prophecy revealing itself to be a message for the church today, the prophet, himself, must necessarily, then, represent the messengers who carry the message to the church at the time appointed. TN1: 36.4: (3) Ezekiel did not bear the message to the people of his day; (4) he will bear it to the people at the commencement of the "Loud Cry.“TN1: 17.3: “….. the purification, therefore, incontrovertibly takes place at the commencement of the "Loud Cry." …..”LDSDA: 3.2: “….. it [GADSDA] purports itself to be the first of the first fruits of the living, the vanguard …..” JL6: 2.1: they are called fruits because they are the result of the "harvest , the work which separates the tares from the wheat. The word "first" connotes that they are the first crop (group) to be harvested -- separated from the "tares, 39 “…. At the beginning of the judgments of God they saw their mistake and rushed for the ark of safety, but it was beyond their reach for they knew nothing of the message, and by the time they acquired it (filled their lamps with oil), there had been a delay , the angel had passed "through the city, through Jerusalem," the church -- the sealing was finished , and probation for the church had closed -- the door was shut.
