Example: Hungry Howie grappled with his sister for the last hamburger. Slide4

Gaunt:

extremely thin or bony; emaciated

Example: The sad, gaunt dog looked hungrily at Hungry Howie’s hamburger. Slide5

damaged or spoiled to a certain extent; rendered less perfect

Receding:

going or moving away; withdrawing
