Wales has a temperate climate, which makes it not too cold and not too hot. It is typically cloudy, wet, and windy, but has much nicer weather near the coast.

Pirates

There were many famous Welsh Pirates in the ‘Golden Age’ of piracy. Bartholomew “Black Bart” Roberts and Henry Morgan were famous pirates born in Wales. Black Bart is thought to have captured 470 vessels, killed thousands of men, but still ran his crew like a fair democracy. Black Bart was eventually killed in battle after his three-year career of piracy. Henry Morgan killed 1200 Spanish soldiers in pursuit of gold, and was knighted in England. He was then sent back to Jamaica and died later in 1688.

This is an illustration of Bartholomew “Black Bart” Roberts.Slide9
