PARRHESIA The editorial board is pleased to present the twentieth issue of Parrhesia , with features by Alexandre Kojève, Bernard Stiegler, and Erich Hörl, as well as a suite of excellent articles engaging with Hegel, Levinas, Deleuze and Debord, and a number of engaging reviews of new books of interest. Murray. Alex, along with Matthew Sharpe and Jon, was a founding editor of the journal — in fact, his was the momentum that gave rise to Parrhesia in the �rst place, and without him this twenty-issue journal would Melbourne, it was his animus that drove the founding of the journal, and has marked its existence ever since. What is this animus? The word that springs to mind is distaste the international journal publications system for starters, but also distaste for empty rhetoric and self-aggran academia, and for anyone who treats the intellectual vocation as if it were a pair of platform shoes. Putting aside the long hours he devoted to each issue, and his persistence in the face of the most intransigent of contributors So, Alex — this one’s for you. We would also like to welcome on board Clara Christopher, our new Editorial Assistant, who will be helping us to keep the trains running on time over the next year.
